Useful for your resume, application forms, or checking the time between your first and latest role.
How we calculate your experience
Each entry becomes a range of calendar dates. We merge overlapping ranges, count each covered date once, and leave gaps out of your total. The start and last working day are both included by default.
The exact result is the number of unique days. For years, months and days, we add that total to your earliest counted start date and measure the calendar difference. This calendar equivalent respects month lengths and leap years; it can differ from an employer’s 30-day-month convention.
What happens when jobs overlap?
If you worked at two companies during the same month, those shared dates count once toward your overall experience. The breakdown still shows the full duration of each job. “Duplicate days removed” counts the extra days an ordinary addition would have included.
Do career gaps count as experience?
Gaps between the jobs you enter appear separately and are excluded from work experience. Time before your first entry and after your last entry is not included in the gap total.
Can I include internships or part-time work?
You can enter their dates, but the tool measures calendar time, not hours worked. Include only the roles relevant to your application, and follow the employer’s rules for internships, part-time work and qualifying experience.
How do I calculate my current job?
Select “I still work here.” The calculator uses the “Calculate as of” date as that job’s end date. It starts at today’s date in India; choose an earlier date when you need a fixed application cutoff.
