About the Position
Marelli is looking for a Test Automation Expert. The company is seeking a senior or expert test automation engineer with strong programming skills, deep automotive-domain expertise, and proven experience designing and scaling test-automation frameworks. This is a hands-on technical role spanning framework architecture, automation execution, mentorship, and continuous-testing enablement for automotive cluster and infotainment systems. The position is based at Marelli's office in Bengaluru, India.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and evolve scalable test-automation frameworks for automotive systems. - Act as a senior individual contributor delivering hands-on automation solutions. - Define and enforce best practices for automation architecture, coding standards, and reuse. - Mentor automation engineers and provide technical leadership. - Drive productivity improvements using AI-assisted automation and modern testing approaches. - Integrate automation solutions into CI/CD/CT pipelines. - Collaborate closely with software, integration, and validation teams.

Must-Have Technical Skills
- Strong programming fundamentals covering data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design. - Expert-level hands-on experience in test-automation development. - Proven framework-design and architecture experience. - Preferred programming stack: C#, .NET, WPF, and MVVM. - Deep debugging and root-cause-analysis skills. - Strong understanding of white-box testing, API testing, and software-level validation.
AI and Productivity Enablement — Must Have
- Practical experience with generative AI and large language models for software testing. - Experience applying AI and machine-learning models to predictive analysis, anomaly detection, and failure-pattern recognition. - Understanding of AI limitations, governance, and responsible usage in testing.
Automotive Domain Expertise — Mandatory
- Strong automotive background with experience in cluster, infotainment, BCM, or telematics systems. - Hands-on experience with CAN, UDS diagnostics, and vehicle networks. - Understanding of ECU behavior, timing, and event-driven systems.
Automation and Testing Capabilities
- HMI and UI automation experience for cluster or IVI systems. - Vision-based validation, OCR, pixel or region comparison, and gauge or blinking validation. - Continuous Integration and Continuous Testing experience. - Experience with headless automation and parallel execution.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Android Automotive OS or Linux-based IVI platforms. - Knowledge of ASPICE testing expectations, including SWE.4 and SWE.5. - Familiarity with BDD or Gherkin-based testing approaches. - Experience with tools such as DOORS, ALM, Jira, Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
